ABOUT THE JOB
We are looking for an Utility Data Technician to join our Engineering team. This role focuses on supporting Utilities operations by ensuring the availability, accuracy, and completeness of operational data related to energy, water, steam, and compressed air systems.
You will be responsible for routine data collection, validation, recording, and reporting activities to support operational monitoring and provide reliable information for the Utilities and TPM teams. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working with data, has strong attention to detail, and is eager to build a career within a manufacturing environment.
JOB PURPOSE & IMPACT
As an Utility Data Technician, your primary purpose is to support the availability and accuracy of Utilities operational data by performing daily data collection, validation, and reporting activities. You will help ensure that reliable data is available for operational monitoring, performance tracking, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Your contribution plays an important role in maintaining data integrity across Utilities systems, including energy, water, steam, and compressed air. Through disciplined data handling and adherence to established procedures, you will support Utilities, Engineering, and TPM teams in making informed operational decisions.
Beyond daily activities, this role offers opportunities to develop technical knowledge of Utilities operations, data management practices, and manufacturing processes within a leading FMCG environment.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
- Ensure all Utilities data collection activities are conducted safely and in compliance with site safety standards.
- Collect, record, and maintain Utilities operational data (energy, water, steam, and compressed air) according to established schedules and procedures.
- Perform basic validation and consistency checks on collected data, identifying and escalating discrepancies when required.
- Prepare and maintain accurate daily and periodic Utilities reports, records, and data logs.
- Provide reliable data support for Utilities, Engineering, and TPM teams to support operational monitoring and improvement initiatives.
- Assist in the preparation of data, documentation, SOPs, and work instructions related to Utilities reporting activities.
- Maintain accurate and organized data documentation while adhering to established standards, procedures, and ways of working.
- Report near misses, unsafe conditions, and data irregularities to support a safe and reliable Utilities operation.
- Support manual data verification and collection activities where automated systems or metering capabilities are limited.
- Contribute to continuous improvement by ensuring data accuracy, availability, and consistency across Utilities operations.
CANDIDATE CRITERIA
- Diploma Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Energy Conversion, or related field. (D3 open, fresh graduate)
- Fresh graduate or up to 2 years of relevant experience.
- Basic understanding of data handling and reporting tools (Excel).
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Disciplined and reliable in performing routine operational tasks.
- Able to communicate in English, both written and spoken.
- Willing to work in a manufacturing environment.
