General Overview
The Field Supervisor for Commodity Paddy/Rice is responsible for building and managing a procurement network of small rice mills to facilitate the procurement of dry paddy, brown rice, white rice, and rice bran. The role involves managing procurement transactions, ensuring timely and efficient procurement processes, and maintaining strong relationships with suppliers.
Roles and responsibilities
Building Procurement Network:
- Identify and onboard small rice mills and suppliers for the procurement of dry paddy, brown rice, white rice, and rice bran.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with rice mill owners and suppliers to ensure a reliable procurement network.
- Conduct market research to identify potential suppliers and assess their capacity and reliability.
- Negotiate terms, prices, and contracts.
Procurement Transaction Management:
- Oversee and manage procurement transactions from initiation to completion, ensuring all processes are followed and documented.
- Monitor and track the procurement of commodities to ensure timely delivery and adherence to quality standards.
- Resolve any issues or disputes that arise during the procurement process in a timely and efficient manner.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field.- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in procurement, preferably in the agricultural or commodity sector, especially paddy.
- Having experience as a team leader is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of the rice industry, including types of rice and rice milling processes.
- Able to communicate in English - written & spoken (mandatory)
- Owning motorcycle and SIM C
Working Conditions:
- Field-based role with frequent travel to rice mills and supplier locations.
- Involve working in rural and remote areas.
- Flexible working hours, including weekends and holidays, depending on procurement needs.
