Wheatfields Cafe, part of Bali Wheatfields Group located in Canggu, is a local cafe that offers gourmet tartines, sandwiches, and locally-sourced food on long fermented artisanal sourdough bread. Along with handcrafted loaves, the cafe also provides coffee, pastries, brunch, and lunch.
Role Description
As a Baker, you will play a crucial role in the production of high-quality baked goods for our customers. You will be responsible for preparing, baking, and finishing various types of bread, pastries, and other baked items according to established recipes and quality standards. The Baker position requires a combination of culinary skill, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare sourdough starter and maintain fermentation schedules.
- Mix, knead, shape, proof, and bake sourdough bread and pastries.
- Monitor fermentation, proofing, and baking processes to ensure optimal results.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bakery workstation and equipment.
- Follow food safety and sanitation guidelines.
- Collaborate with team members to develop new sourdough recipes and products.
- Assist in inventory management and ordering of baking supplies.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Sourdough Baker or artisanal baker, preferably in a bakery specializing in sourdough products.
- Deep knowledge of sourdough fermentation processes and techniques.
- Strong baking skills and ability to produce consistently high-quality products.
- Attention to detail and precision in measurements and techniques.
- Creativity and ability to innovate in sourdough recipe development.
- Ability to work early mornings, weekends, and holidays as required.
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
- High school diploma or equivalent is preferred
- 2 years minimum experience
- Additional language skills such as fluency in English and Bahasa Indonesia are also preferred
