We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Backend Developer to drive the design, development, and optimisation of our server-side applications and cloud infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead backend development using Node.js and TypeScript, following best practices and clean coding standards.
- Design, build, and maintain scalable RESTful and GraphQL APIs for mobile and web applications.
- Collaborate closely with the Mobile and Web teams to ensure high-quality API integration and consistent data flows.
- Contribute to Continuous Improvement: Participate in code reviews, architectural discussions, and continuous integration processes to enhance the quality of the product
- Conduct code reviews and act as a technical mentor to junior and mid-level backend developers.
- Optimise backend performance, ensuring high availability, security, and scalability.
- Troubleshoot production issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement long-term fixes.
- Keep up to date with emerging backend technologies, tooling, and cloud best practices.
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of hands-on backend development experience.
- Strong proficiency in Node.js and TypeScript.
- Deep knowledge of AWS cloud services (Amplify, Lambda, API Gateway, Cognito, S3, etc.).
- Proven experience designing scalable, distributed backend systems.
- Strong understanding of database technologies (SQL and/or NoSQL).
- Experience with serverless architecture or microservices.
- Proficiency with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps practices.
- Strong problem-solving and debugging skills.
- Excellent communication skills and experience in technical leadership or mentoring.
