The Division: Hexagon Autonomous Solution comprises of three divisions: Agriculture, Autonomy & Positioning and Mining – Providing a breadth of perception, positioning, vehicle autonomy and site orchestration technologies to enable the full autonomous solutions for the agriculture, mining, automotive and marine sectors.
The Position; Reporting to the Director, SMART Centre, we are seeking a Data Science/ Computer Software/Data Analytics student to join our team in Balikpapan. This internship is for 2025/2026 Academic students. This opportunity offers will see you work hands-on alongside our Smart Centre team. Working with our experienced team of engineers and data scientists, you will gain valuable experience data visualization and analytics.
For this role, opportunities of work involvement will include;
- Assist in creating interactive dashboards: Use your skills in Power Bi to create visually appealing and interactive dashboards using Power BI to present data insights effectively.
- Support Data Analysis and Interpretation: in partnership with Senior team members, learn to interpret business datasets to help the business identify trends, patterns, and actionable insights.
- Collaborate with Stakeholders: Work closely with team members and stakeholders to understand their data visualization needs and requirements.
- Presentation: Present your experience, project and findings of your time within the internship at the end of the term to key stakeholders
This position is based on-site in Balikpapan, Kalimantan Timur. Hours will be FT, Monday to Friday 8-5pm and uphold a 3-month duration. Commencement in role is planned for July/August 2025 start date.
About you
If you are savvy with Power BI, and keen to gain hands on experience seeing how advanced Data analytics is used in global industries this could be the opportunity for you!
In addition, we are seeking those with the following qualifications and skills;
Technical
- Completed high school
- Undergraduate or Colleague student, undertaking studies in Data Science, Computer Science, or Data Analytics and have completed at least your 2nd year or 3rd year of studies
- Strong communication skills, both oral and written
- Proficient in written and spoken English
- Detail-oriented with basic analytical skills
- Experience with Business Intelligence software such as PowerBI and/or Tableau
General
- Ability to work in a collaborative team environment
- Available for FT 38 hrs per week work for 3mths commencing July/August 2025
- Proactive self-starter
- Intermediate to Advanced English Oral and written skills
- Ability to use data from multiple platforms and assist in streamlining into Power BI Dashboards
Desirable
- Interest in working with Mining technology
- Basic Knowledge of Python scripting
