Job Description
We’re looking for a Mid to Senior level Software Engineer to scale up our engineering team.
About the teamOur current team consists of our engineering manager in our Melbourne office and engineers in Indonesia. Both of our co-founders are also software engineers.
You will be one of the first in the team and there will be enormous opportunities for learning and personal growth. We're looking for someone that can set a high technical standard as the team continues to expand.
TechnologyThe heart of Influx is an internal product we call the “People App”. It's what we call a "socio-technological" system. Many of the challenges we face are not only technical in nature—we are designing systems involving both people and technology.
The People App is a Ruby on Rails monolith running on a Postgres database. Using a simple architecture and solving problems in simple ways allows us to scale up while engineers can focus on work that delivers business value.
What we’re looking for
- Experience with our technical stack: Ruby, Rails, and Postgres is a plus.
- Intermediate level of spoken and written skills in English
- Someone that is curious, collaborative and ready to take ownership.
- Comfortable being part of a small, autonomous and distributed team.
- Top-notch communication skills are essential.
- Eager to learn and grow.
- Experience designing and building efficient, reliable (yet maintainable) systems.
