The Studio Project Manager is responsible for overseeing end-to-end execution of studio-based data capture projects. This role ensures that production teams operate efficiently, adhere strictly to company guidelines, and deliver high-quality datasets aligned with defined project scope, budget, and timeline requirements.
The Studio Project Manager translates strategic capture briefs into structured operational plans and holds teams accountable for performance, compliance, and output quality.
What you’ll do
- Take the project brief and turn it into an actionable plan for your teams
- Lead and coordinate production teams, including field producers, location coordinators, freelancers, and support staff
- Ensure shoots follow all Atlas capture standards, including consent, demographics, and data security
- Monitor team performance, workflow efficiency, and adherence to guidelines
- Identify risks or blockers and resolve them before they impact production
- Manage budgets, vendor relationships, and resource allocation for smooth operations
- Maintain clear operational documentation and communicate progress to leadership
Key Responsibilities
Project Execution & Scope Management
- Review and interpret project briefs
- Develop detailed execution plans (timeline, staffing, locations, equipment)
- Establish daily and weekly output targets
- Identify risks and mitigation strategies
- Ensure alignment between scope, resources, and delivery timelines
Team Oversight & Operational Leadership
Oversee production teams including:
- Location coordinators
- Field producers
- Freelance crew
- Data wranglers
- Production assistants
Responsibilities include:
- Communicating project standards and expectations
- Monitoring performance against KPIs
- Enforcing adherence to operational guidelines
- Resolving production challenges efficiently
- Driving continuous process improvement
Compliance & Standards Enforcement
Ensure all studio operations:
- Follow approved capture specifications
- Meet demographic and environmental requirements
- Maintain proper documentation and consent records
- Adhere to data handling and security protocols
- Comply with internal and external regulatory standards
No deliverables are submitted without verification of compliance and quality controls.
Performance & KPI Management
The Studio Project Manager is accountable for operational metrics including:
Production Metrics
- On-time project delivery rate
- Daily output vs. target
- Utilization rates
Quality Metrics

Qualifications
Required
- 4+ years of experience in field project management
- Proven experience leading full-time staff to deliver projects on time
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple shoots and schedules simultaneously
- Experience managing budgets, vendor contracts, and resource allocation
- Familiarity with compliance, consent, and documentation requirements for production environments
- Excellent communication and leadership skills to motivate teams and solve operational challenges
- Detail-oriented, proactive, and able to identify risks and resolve them quickly
- Comfortable working in fast-paced, guideline-driven environments
